Drink now or cellar for up to 17 years. Serve chilled. This opulent Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs is a sensational vintage Champagne which is perfectly-suited to even the most decadent of celebrations. The fruit for this exceptional bottling comes from a prime single vineyard site in Avize and the Champagne is named after the horse, Venus, which is used to work this plot instead of a tractor. The Champagne gets its complex flavour profile from the 60 months of ageing on the lees which imparts notes of brioche, toasted nuts, and cream which intermingle with the crisp lemon zest, green apple and floral notes from the Chardonnay varietal. This is a Champagne that is ideal to enjoy now on its own as a luxurious aperitif, although it will also continue to develop and evolve if cellared over the next decade or so. The Agrapart Champagne house was founded by Arthur Agrapart in 1894 and remains in the hands of the family today. In 1984 brothers Pascal and Fabrice Agrapart took over the running of the estate and since then they have strived to work in harmony with Mother Nature and allow the influence of the exceptional terroir to shine through in their Champagnes. The brothers avoid using any chemical pesticides or weed killers in the vineyards and they use natural yeasts for fermentation.
