Cellar for up to 5 years. Serve chilled. Founded in the post-prohibition era, Chateau Ste Michelle is Washington State’s oldest wineries and one of America’s most important producers. The estate owns prime vineyards in Washington’s top wine regions including Columbia Valley, Cold Creek and the Horse Heaven Hills. This elegant rosé sparkling wine is crafted with top quality fruit from Washington’s Columbia Valley which sits at a northerly latitude similar to that of France’s legendary Champagne region. This means the vineyards enjoy long summer evenings with extra hours of daylight at the most critical point in the growing season, helping to fully ripen the grapes. The area also benefits from cooler evenings which preserve plenty of freshness and aromatics in the fruit. Crafted from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes, the fruit is pressed and fermented in individual lots which are carefully sampled by winemaker Paula Eakin to select the composition of the final blend. Eakin uses the Champagne method to create this wine, with the secondary fermentation and maturation taking place inside the bottle in the cellar. The result is a vibrant, refreshing sparkling wine that’s bursting with delicate bubbles, ripe red berry notes and hints of zingy citrus on the finish.
